Recap
This is going to be a pretty short blog as I’m running a little late this morning and I have to get to work, but I’ll do my best. Boy was last game an absolute shit show. For a minute I thought the final score was going to be 18-17, as it seemed like every single shot was going to go in. Husso continued to prove his incompetence giving up more goals than he had saves, but Lalonde finally had the balls to pull him and throw in Cossa for his first ever game. The Sabres did the opposite, leaving in a wounded Reimer, who would eventually lose it for them. I think that was the key to winning. The Wings wanted to get that win for Cossa so bad, so they locked in when they were down 5-3 and decided to make a push for him. Cossa gave up a softie, but for his first ever appearance in net coming in a no defense game, it was kind of what I expected. It wasn’t until our first shootout of the year when he shined, as well as Raymond and Larkin putting 2 in to win it. It was looking bleak but that snipe from Mo to tie it at 5 was fucking sick. Off angle, bar down is so nails. Miraculously, the Wings are only a couple games from a playoff spot, no idea how, but there is hope with how awful the Eastern Conference is this year, but I guess we’ll see.
We manned up and threw 5 units on the Wings to win and thank god that paid off. We’ve been on a bender as of late, losing a ton of units, but this win gets us right on track where we need to be. Hopefully we can continue tonight against the Flyers.

Prediction
Unfortunately with Talbot and Lyon back in the lineup, that will be the last we see of Cossa for now. I’m glad he was able to get the win for his first game, but I wish he could’ve at least logged a start. Instead Talbot will be back in net tonight, which I’m thankful for. Hopefully he can remain healthy so I never have to see Husso wearing the Winged Wheel again. With Philly tied for the last wildcard spot and everyone playing tonight, this will be a big test to see if the Wings actually want to make a push. With how depressing this season has gone, the playoffs are not out of reach and there’s plenty of time to make a push, but we have to insert ourselves up there early. Philly is pretty beatable, relying on the scoring of their young core, but I feel like we play well against younger teams. We need the defense to step up tonight, as well as continuing to get shots on goal like the last few games. This is a very winnable game and I expect the Wings to gain some momentum.
This will be another simple pick as I have to go, but tonight I love the Wings to win and get their over in goals. The Flyers give up a lot of goals and are vulnerable, so if the Wings are going to win, they will hit their over.
